Another Form of My Work

I started writing songs for women who wanted a way to express what they felt, but couldn’t always say out loud.

The response surprised me — not just from them, but from their partners as well.

I kept hearing the same thing. They listened to the song constantly. It still brought tears to their eyes, even after the first time. And when a relationship felt strained or distant, listening to it brought them back to a place of love and connection — to why they chose each other in the first place.

That’s when I understood what this really was.

These songs weren’t about music.
They were about emotional memory.

When I write a song for someone, I’m not turning facts into lyrics. I’m listening for what’s underneath — the feeling, the moment, the meaning that’s been carried quietly. I don’t write about someone’s life. I try to write from inside it.

Every song you see here was written one-on-one, based on real conversations and real memories, and recorded individually. Nothing reused. Nothing generic.

If this speaks to you and you feel drawn to having a song written, you can reach out to me personally through my contact page.

This isn’t something I take on in high volume, but when I do, I keep it simple and reasonably priced.

At its core, this work is about preserving a feeling —
and giving it a place to live.

Custom songs created by Lanie Stevens

“Each sample song uses a different voice, style, and emotional perspective — because no two stories should ever sound the same.”

Ed’s Song —

(A song built from precious memories)

I’ve heard a lot of custom love songs, but this one was different. It didn’t just list memories — it brought them back. The kitchen dancing, the quiet nights, the way love feels when it’s real and lived in. I didn’t expect to cry, but I did. What surprised me most was how it affected him — it softened him. He heard our story in it, and it brought us closer.

Michael’s Song —

(Example: Lost love and reconnection.)

“This is an example of a song written for someone from your past—an ex, a love that didn’t fully end, or someone who still lives quietly in your heart.

Songs like this aren’t meant to plead or explain. They’re meant to remind. To rekindle memory. To stir emotion. To leave someone thinking about you in a way that feels natural, warm, and unforced.

It doesn’t ask for a response.
It simply reconnects—allowing the feeling to speak for itself.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can send isn’t words.
It’s understanding.”

— Lanie.

Jeff’s Song —

(A song about choosing each other—fully and finally)

“When Jeff heard the song, he started crying and had to hang up the phone. He’s a tough Marine, so I was completely shocked.

That same day, he changed his relationship status on Facebook — something he had never done before. A week later, he was talking seriously about marriage.

After four years of confusion and distance, something shifted. He told me it was the most touching gift he had ever received — and the first time he truly felt seen.

All he wants now is for me to frame the lyrics.”

Lisa’s Song —

(A lasting love song with calm, steady devotion)

I met Lisa at the lowest point of my life, and I never knew how to explain what she brought back into it. This song somehow did.

After 28 years together, hearing our story this way brought us both to tears. We play it almost every day now. It’s a reminder of how love found me when I didn’t think it could — and how grateful I am for every year we’ve shared.”

Example Custom Duet —

(A lasting love song with calm, steady devotion)

A heartfelt, modern pop-ballad duet that brings two perspectives together in one love story. Warm acoustic production, emotional harmonies, and a male–female vocal blend create a romantic, intimate feel.

This sample shows how your story can become a beautifully crafted song — personal, memorable, and made just for you.

Barry’s Song —

(10 year anniversary celebration)

We’ve been married for ten years, and I couldn’t think of a gift that would truly feel memorable anymore.

Lanie wrote this song for him, and it brought him to tears. My words, my heart, my soul put to music. Priceless.

He told me it meant more to him than the $10,000 gift I gave him last year. For a man who truly has everything, this was what he appreciated most.”

— Dawn S.

Sarah’s Song —

(A heartfelt apology and reconnection)

“Thank you for writing a song that sounded like something I would actually say — and sing.

It captured the sadness, the regret, and the things I didn’t know how to put into words without making excuses.

The song opened the door for a conversation we needed to have, and we’re working on our relationship now.

I’m hopeful — and I don’t think that would have happened without this.”

Alan’s Song —

(A strong goodbye and reclaiming yourself)

“I sent him the song… and then I blocked him.

Two months later, mutual friends told me he still listens to it. They said he talks about it, plays it, and keeps it.

I’ve moved on. But I still take up rent in his head. This decision has given me emotional freedom.

Thank you, Lanie!”

Messages I Receive

  • "I need to tell you something. I originally had a short, upbeat song made elsewhere as a Christmas gift. It was cute, but honestly it felt more like a jingle. I just listened to this version and I’m completely undone. I’m not a crier and I’m sitting here sobbing. Every single line felt personal and real. It felt like you understood our relationship in a way I didn’t know how to explain. This isn’t something you listen to once and move on from. It’s something you carry with you. Like you were inside my heart. I cannot wait to give this to him for Christmas."

  • "Holy shit… I’ve listened to it three times already. Every time a different line hits me. It doesn’t feel like our story was summarized — it feels like it was understood. I did not expect to keep replaying this, but I keep going back to it."

  • "I have to be honest, I was skeptical at first because there are so many “custom song” things online. But this felt completely different. The words sounded like something I would actually say. It never once felt generic. This doesn’t feel like a novelty gift. It feels real."
